Improvements in Holders for Menu Cards, Ball Programmes, and the Like.

On August 31, 1895, Rosa, Countess of Königsdorff, of Cassel, Prussia, patented a novel card holder. Her design featured an ornamental front plate with a spring clamp at the back to secure the card, and a pin for fastening the holder to the wearer’s clothing.
