Improvements in Curtain Rods.

On August 10, 1895, Eliza Dorman, wife of engineer Henry Dorman of Stafford, patented an adjustable-length curtain rod. Her tubular rod had an eye for hooking onto existing fittings and a sliding companion piece that neatly held the curtain in place.
