A Device for Warming Plates.

On April 6, 1895, Euphemia H. Paterson of Norwood House, Edinburgh, was awarded a patent for a novel device for warming plates at dining-rooms and open fires. Her invention used a rotating spindle fitted with stacked discs that could securely support multiple plates while allowing the structure to turn for improved heat distribution.
