Toe Protecting Device and Method of Making the Same.

On August 1, 1944, Maisie Jane Patterson of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, was granted a patent for a novel toe-protecting device. It featured soft fabric loops and padding to shield the toes from friction, corns, and calluses while keeping them comfortable inside shoes.
