On November 11, 1915, Countess Helen Mörner of North Sydney, Australia, obtained a patent for improvements in bulletproof garments. Her design featured flexible steel bands arranged horizontally and vertically, which could be rotated by 90 degrees to enhance flexibility and protection while remaining light and comfortable to wear.

On October 6, 1894, Eliza Dalton, a gentlewoman of Argyle (New South Wales), obtained a patent for a novel device that let carts or carriages be oiled without removing the wheels or axle caps.

On October 30, 1905, Francesca Myers of St. Kilda, Australia, patented an ornamental attachment for boots and shoes designed to cover and secure the knot and loose ends of laces. By fastening a bow, rosette, buckle, or similar decoration over the lacing, her device kept the ties from coming undone and added a decorative finish.

On August 23, 1910, Francesca Sarah Phillips, a resident of Glenworth Valley, northeast of Sydney, was awarded a patent for developing a portable book stand designed to be fastened to a block.
